Week 20 - Tyler

So for those of you at the party, you know I had a hell of a time with camera equipment. I went there with a grand idea in mind of making a sort of ring flash out of two speedlights..i had a seemless and everything. Well everything went to shit, including my camera breaking for most of the night. With that said, I think I love this shot, and I still experimented with some different lighting that I've never used. Notice I said lighting and not photoshop work, that vignette was not done in post...enhanced maybe, but not made completely.

Week 20. Tony

Its not a slicer, its not a dicer, its...Sledge-O-Matic

Trust me, I was not comfortable in front of that thing.

Week 19. Tony

This is in Brian and Kathys haunted basement bomb shelter. No photoshoping or manipulation at all. Only toned and resized.

Week 19 -Tyler

So anyone from Readington, NJ should know about the glowing grave at the church on Readington Road, right by the Hillcrest Bridge. So here it is, in the flesh, this image never even got opened in Photoshop. That glowing light in the graveyard was not enhanced or manipulated in anyway. Enjoy.

Week 19. Ben

I occasionally get the feeling that when I sleep there is something else there.

Lets try this again...

So once again sorry to whoever is left checking this thing. But Tony and I are back. Back to new entries every week, hopefully we can get everyone and some new people contributing. If you want to contribute please just let us know, we'd love it. We have some good ideas coming up, one exciting one will be one person shoots an image, everyone get's the RAW file in and email and edits it how they see fit. And much more for sure. So thanks to everyone who stuck around with us and here are a few shots that I've taken over the past month or so....enjoy.

If you couldn't tell I've been spending a fair amount of time in the outdoors. I'm trying to get as much of this Northeast goodness in before I move to the desert.
Definitely let us know what you're thinking of our photos!

Week 18. Tony

I was lost in the woods, and a wedding. Here are a few from camping. The first is star gazing at Rivers Bend, thats me, Garrett, and my sister. I think Tyler is off to the side.(Taking a better picture I'm sure he will post it) Next is a photo to add in to my Revert body of work. And finally ending with a killer sunset while we fished. It changed by the second, and we totally shot way to many photos of it.

We don't know what else to say except we are terribly sorry and please stay tuned. The work load we both have is more then we can handle. We promise to be up and running asap. Please don't abandon us, our return shall be triumphant.

Almost forgot...

Paul was actually the only person close to being on time for our last assignment, "Ode to Coffee." However I never posted his photo (sorry Paul), so here it is, and hopefully we'll keep getting more from him.

Week 12 - Tyler

Eat it Tony!
HAH! Just kidding, but to get you all up to speed: Tony, Garret and I went climbing this weekend, one day at Ralph Stover State Park and one day at the Delaware Water Gap. Well Tony forgot his compact flash cards and so we brought only one camera to the top, and with only 4 frames remaining the perfect clouds rolled in at the right time for light in this amazing landscape and I said "Sorry Tony the last 4 frames are going to be a pano." Anyone who knows Tony know that he lives for sweet panos. So needless to say Tony is still upset just thinking about it.

Week 12 - Chris

I have a hard time choosing one image sometimes when I go out shooting. Knowing this week that I had to tell what I did all weekend with this ONE photo I knew there was no way I could just choose one. Being labor day weekend and that I had off from work for four days I knew that I would do a lot of skateboarding this weekend....and I did. There are so many more from the shoot but i brought it down to two, and took the diptych way out. If you want to see more head on over to my photoblog

Week 11 -Tyler

This is what time has been like for me lately: flying by so fast; it looks like one big blur, but its really a whole lot of little things; and yet there is still at least one constant, just trying to figure out if it's an anchor or a rudder. Deep.

Week 10- Tony

Wow, Im really late. Other than a super duper busy wedding season, this is the only thing I had time to work on this week. Here is a product shot for my friend Bobs new company Environmetal. I fully support the cause and highly recommend everyone check it out.

Week 10-Tyler

So another busy ass week has come and gone, and so Tony and I have decided to do another "What are you working on now" type of weeks. Anywho...anyone who knows me knows that I've always dreamed of living by the ocean, traveling the world, chasing swells, and photographing it all, so this is a bit of a life long series. This past weekend the Northeast saw near perfect well over head conditions thanks to Hurricane Bill, and I didn't get to surf any of it. But I did at least get to take photos, so here is one. And you can see more on my Facebook.

Week 9 Ben

Sorry I missed last week. I was in philly working on a framing job. But I'm here for week 9.

For the caption:

"I have been doing a lot of "street" shooting lately, documenting mostly musicians. This is Vinny, and he is a member of a band which was collecting money by 30th St. Station."

Week 9 Tony

Id like to be doing nothing and making money, but that doesn't seem to be working for me so I guess Ill settle for being busy. This is the second week in a row Mandy and I have had enough and drove to the Water Gap. We drove past this gem of a sunset just after a brief rainstorm. This is a hand held shot with little alteration. Pretty much just some color and contrast correction. The sun had moved by the time I set up my tripod for the next round of shots, bummer. But Im here to say it really looked this good. I hope you can take a second of your busy day and just relax and enjoy this sunset with us.

-Tony

Week 9-Tyler

So Tony and I continue to be very busy. Which is a good thing since this is the busy season of both of our parts of the industry, and work is good. Either way we've decided to use this past week to set aside time to work on our individual on going projects.

This image is part of a series that I've been working on since December. The series is comprised of images photographed from a moving car. I use the fact that I'm traveling at 50+ mph to capture an image that couldn't be captured any other way. Some of the photos are shot while I'm a passenger and some of them I'm driving for. Either way I hope to capture something people see everyday but in a way that they rarely look at it. This is a photo I just took this past weekend. To be honest I'm not sure if it makes that cut compared to some of the other ones in the series, but I'm pretty happy with it.

If you go to my website, the first 5 images of the main gallery are part of this series.

Enjoy, and I definitely welcome and want comments and critique.

Week 8 -Tyler

So as usual I had a few different things in mind for this shot that didn't quite come to fruition. Unfortunately I have been crazy busy. But I'm happy to have this to at least shoot something every week. Our posts aren't quite as exciting as I had hoped for, but hopefully this next week will be sweeter, whatever it ends up being.

Enjoy,
-Tyler

Week 8- Chris Weger

-Jennifer 8 Lee

-Chris Weger-

Sorry Everybody

We just can't seem to get things straight. Tony and I always seem to have something going. This week my excuse is a weekend of rock climbing and 12 to 14 hours days of work. Either way I wanted to say that we have a new guy coming into the mix. His name is Chris Weger, also a fellow AIPH graduate and also has a beard, sometimes. Either way Chris dedicates most of his photography, and life for that matter, towards skateboarding. So hopefully this blog will help him step out of his comfort zone like Tony and I wanted it to.

So far no word from Paul or Ben for this week, but hopefully they're still with us and we hope this thing can keep growing!

Enjoy,
-Tyler

Week 8 Stick it in the Fridge

Ok not as fun or great as last week, but interesting to say the least. I pointed the flash down and laid the camera on its side, set the timer and closed the door. Its pretty sound proof in there. I couldnt hear the shutter unless I put my ear next to it. I would like to try this again when I can put more time and effort into it. The fridge made the perfect mini studio with awesome light with just one flash. This may be an awesome way to do food and drink product shots.

Week 7 Ben MacMaster

Not the best idea...
-Ben

Week 7- Tyler

I'm not sure what to say about this one. I'm excited about it though. I figured it was about time someone brought some studio business to this blog, but I guess Paul had been thinking the same thing. I have literally 154 shots of these things now, but this one was in the last set of them. This was what I was working towards and it took the help of my roommate Ryan to make it work, so thanks Ryan.

Enjoy
-Tyler

Week 7 -Paul

Paul had a caption in the email he sent me, but I forget it and I purged the email already. It said something along the lines of "No offensive caption this time."
Either way, enjoy this one from Paul.

Week 6- Tony, HDR at High Noon

HDRs are meant for sunrise/sunsets times when the lighting is superb. I highly recommend checking out other HDRs, they are dream scapeish . This was an experiment and a challenge. Mitch and I were hiking in the Catskills this weekend and came across tis bridge and falls. This is a series of 9 shots all at different exposures. The photos are what they are at high noon, but it is interesting to see what the eye really sees in these photos.
-Tony

Week 6- Ben MacMaster

"A different HDR attempt, composite of the same DNG, just different exposures in camera raw."

Week 6- Tyler

So I'll admit to half assing this one. I wanted to shoot it under 95 by me in Philly, where there would be all types of tones, but I was out of the city for most of the week. In fact I have been on the road way too much, so to show that, I shot a rest stop in Connecticut I was passing around noon. It of course didn't come out that amazing, but I guess the point of HDR is that the image should actually look like real life, and not a Harry Potter ad. The point of shooting it around noon was to make it hard to make it interesting, since the severe lack of shadows would defeat the point of HDR, and it worked.

-Tyler

Week 6- Paul Paoletti

"HDR.. H** d*** r*****?

thats my caption."
(The email I got from Paul.) -Tyler

(Had to edit due to family and the elderly viewing this blog. Its a respect thing, not censorship thing. Sorry Paul, I laughed though.) -Tony

Update

Hey everyone,
As some of you have probably noticed, we are pretty bad at actually posting our updates for Monday. To take care of this, Tony and I have decided to make the post day Tuesday. So please keep coming back to check out the photos and comment. We now have a total of four people involved and the photos should only get better!

Thanks for checking us out.

"Self Edit" - sometimes we need to edit out the rough drafts to get to that final image of ourselves.. shit thats deep

-Paul

Week 5 -I'm Back

So I obviously conceded last week to Tony. Unfortunately it was a rough/busy week for me and I never got anything that I was happy with, let alone willing to show in public. But I'm back for this week, and Tony actually unknowingly gave me an idea when we talked last week, I figured I'd work the 360 pano into this weeks assignment. So sorry for dropping the ball, but I'm back.

Also, this week starts the inclusion of Paul and Ben in the Dueling. So its technically no longer a duel, but oh well, it seems the more the better.

-Tyler

My gun's drawn, where are you?

So I guess Tyler isn't showing up for his own duel??

Week 4. 360 Vert Pano

Well this was a bit of an unusual thing to do. Anyway you rotate the image, it stays kinda awesomely weird. I would be anxious to see this printed the super large format that it is and put it on a arched ceiling, then it would work. Anyway, try and take it all in even though its kind of a small sample pic. Start at the bottom and look up and over. Enjoy
-Tony

Monday, July 13, 2009

Late this week.

Tyler and I are both running behind on this week and will have pics up asap. In the meantime, the new theme is up and we have 2 new people joining the duel. So look forward to 4 photos instead of 2. I'm stoked are you...?

Week 3

Rifreakindiculous. This night was intents just like camping. As Tyler said we went to Kevins prom themed 4th of July party. Besides who wants to see the same old pictures of fireworks, or a parade? Instead, I give you a slightly trashy formal Bull Fight. Be sure to check Tyler and my facebooks soon. Ill also post some of the other artsy fartsy pics on my other blog. See you next week.

Week 3

I can't believe how fast these posts come up! Either way I'm kicking this week off early because I'll be at work all day tomorrow. This week's theme was "4th of July Party Photos." Unfortunately Tony and I went to a very unconventionally themed 4th of July Party. Fortunately the party was prom themed and amazing! The photos are absolutely awesome and there will be a plethora posted on Facebook for sure over the next week, but for now here is my best party shot.
